Major Russian Strikes Cut Power Throughout Kyiv

Power facilities targeted in Ukraine
Ukraine's energy systems have come under increased attacks in the past few days

Throughout the evening, Russian aerial assaults have led to power cuts in large parts of the capital city, Kyiv.

Several individuals were wounded while local people in eastern neighborhoods were left without electricity and faced interruptions to drinking water, according to city officials.

Meanwhile, a young boy was killed in a separate assault in the Zaporizhzhia region in the southern area, as reported by regional authorities.

Moscow has escalated strikes on energy facilities over recent weeks, while Ukrainian leadership has requested "real steps" from international partners to exert influence on Moscow.

"What is required is not superficial actions but firm measures - from the United States, the EU and the Group of Seven - in delivering air defence systems and enforcing penalties," was stated in a online statement.

Officials stated that hundreds of unmanned aircraft and over thirty missiles attacked the country's power systems, describing such strikes as "strategic and deliberate" and against "everything that sustains normal life" as the weather cools.

Energy officials said Moscow was "inflicting a massive strike" and technical staff were striving to repair systems.

A series of attacks damaged power facilities and civilian homes in Kyiv.

Five out of the nine people hurt in the assaults on the capital have been taken to hospital, according to municipal representatives.

Local officials said the urban area experienced heavy assaults throughout the evening. A young boy lost their life and multiple civilians were injured.

The assaults come after periods of bombing campaigns in the region, sections of which are occupied by invading troops.

The entire country is on alert for hypersonic Kinzhal missile strikes, which are more difficult to spot.

Government officials told journalists that Russia was purposely seeking to demolish the country's energy grid, with assaults already disrupting fuel infrastructure.

Officials stated utility staff and government agencies were anticipating further attacks.
